You can enjoy free WIFI on board the City Sightseeing Italy buses, encouraging passengers to blog, tweet and upload photos along the way.

The hop-on-hop-off tour has two terminals. Terminal A: Termini Marsala and Terminal B: Largo Di Villa Peretti both are close to Termini - Rome's main station.

The stops included in the tour are:

Stop 2 - Santa Maria Maggiore: Dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, this basilica is often used by the Pope. The church contains many ancient mosaics and some beautiful frescoes. The medieval bell tower is the highest in Rome, at 75 meters.

Stop 3 – Colosseo: An architectural and engineering wonder of the ancient world, the Colosseum bears witness to both the glory and brutality of the Roman Empire. (This stop is closed on Sundays and public holidays.)

Stop 4 - Circo Massimo: With a seating capacity of 250,000 people, Circo Massimo was once the largest stadium of ancient Rome, used for gladiator fights, processions or chariot races. This stop is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Stop 5 - Piazza Venezia: Situated in the heart of Rome, this square is walking distance from some of the most famous monuments such as the Forum Romanum, the Pantheon and Campidoglio.

Stop 6 – Vaticano: Your stop for Vatican City and the wealth of fabulous artworks in the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Also the stop for St Peter's Square and Basilica.

Stop 7 - Fontana di Trevi: Beautiful Baroque Trevi – one of the world’s most famous fountains - depicts the sea god, Oceanus, riding a shell-shaped chariot drawn by two horses.

Stop 7b - Piazza Di Spagna: Only on Sundays and Bank Holidays : This stop is at the bottom of the Spanish Steps close to the Column of the Immaculate Conception.

Stop 8 - Piazza Barberini: A large piazza named after the nearby Palazzo Barberini. The Palazzo has a famous helicoidal staircase, magnificent frescoes and one of the most important art collections in Italy. This stop also gives easy access to the pedestrian walkway to the Spanish Steps.

You can leave the tour at whichever stop you wish.

Sarah A. Sterling

We didn't use the hop-on, hop-off as much as I had hoped as it was very cold and the buses were not warm at all. However, it was very convenient to use when we did get to use it!

Arindam Roy

Overall it was good experience, but the frequency of the tour was disheartening.

MRS DANIELLA SLANEY

Highly recommend this bus tour. I would recommend checking where the different stops are before going there so that you know where to get on in the first place! We didn't do this and although the bus stops are obvious when you know what to look out for, initially it can be a bit confusing. However, there are bus stops with clear signs that do say hop on hop off, which are with other bus tours. The people are very helpful over there anyway and everyone knows about the hop on hop off tour so you can easily be guided to find the bus stop. Lovely way to see all of the best attractions. You are given a headphone set so you can select your language and listen to all of the information about the different attractions. An announcement comes over the tannoy to let you know what the next stop is too. The whole tour takes about 2 hours. We did that on the first morning, then in the afternoon hopped on again to go to a particular place we wanted to go to. We did the same the next day. If staying in the centre of Rome, I think one day pass would be sufficient as all the main places are well within easy walking distance. Would use again.
