Pope Francis Tour

Discover the life of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francis, on a 3-hour small-group tour through the Buenos Aires neighborhoods and historic sites that shaped his early life and spiritual journey.

The tour begins by passing by the Santa Casa de Ejercicios Espirituales before continuing to the Mary Help of Christians Basilica, where you will learn about one of the places connected to Bergoglio's early life and faith. Please note that the basilica is closed on Mondays, when the visit is made from the outside.

Continue through the Flores neighborhood, passing by his birthplace, primary school, and second family home. Then visit the San José de Flores Basilica, one of the most significant places in his spiritual journey and the site associated with his decision to become a priest.

The itinerary continues to the Salesian Oratory, where his passion for San Lorenzo de Almagro began, before visiting the historic Jesuit churches of El Salvador and San Ignacio de Loyola.

The tour concludes at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Plaza de Mayo, where Bergoglio served as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. Along the way, discover the people, places, and religious institutions that played an important role in his journey from Flores to becoming Pope Francis.
