The best way to see San Francisco
Great tour!! Whenever we visit a city we take a tour similar to this and the Big Bus has been the best so far. The drivers and staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the great experience!
Well, unlimited hop-on hop-off access to three day routes and one night route represented excelent value for money. The various tour guides on the busses gave out an enormouse amount of usefull and informative information although some of the funning quips left you groaning. The trip to Alcatraz was again something to be experienced. Apart from the ability to tour the whole island and see places where the gurds and wardens lived there was also an audio tour of the prison itself. The audio commentry was presented by some of the inmates giving facts of how life was in the cells etc. The tour talked you through a complex maze within the prison to enable you to obtain a full understanding of where the day to day life was and the various ares that were used by the inmates. The audio also stopped you at varios stages to enable you to view pictures and read information about life in general and some of the people that were inprisoned there. One observation: If you are with someone else or a party make sure that you all start the audio tape together. My wife and I didn't and I was constantly trying to get her to catch up which meant that I missed some of the dirrection instructions. It was possible to pause the tape if extra time was required at any stage and if you neede to catch up it was possible to fast forward the tape, however I found that I could not go backwards on the tape. Nevertheless an extremely educational and rewarding tour.
The cultural center of North California, San Francisco is known for its universities, Golden Gate Bridge, diverse culture, historical buildings, rolling hills, eclectic architecture, and more. The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz island have a rich history that can be further explored with a combo ticket of Big Bus.
The hop-on hop-off tours will take you to the federal prison in Alcatraz which had been home to Al Capone. You can also opt to rent a bike with the ticket to explore the city on your own terms. The Skyline Sightseeing San Francisco also accompanies a 60-minute cruise for surreal views of the coastal areas. Alternatively, you can also take a guided tour of the Muir Woods to witness over 1000 years old redwood trees.
September to November is the best time to visit San Francisco. The city experiences warmer temperatures and a plethora of street fairs. Since there is no rain, it is an apt time to enjoy outdoor activities.
