Start your adventure with the Amsterdam Hop-on Hop-off bus tour, offering scenic views as you pass through iconic spots like the Heineken Experience, Rijksmuseum, and the Jewish Cultural Quarter. The bus offers an easy way to explore the city from the outside. Afterward, leave the city behind as you travel by luxury coach to the picturesque Dutch countryside. Visit the famous windmills of Zaanse Schans, watch a clog-making demonstration, and learn about traditional cheese-making. Then, explore the quaint fishing villages of Marken and Volendam, with a relaxing 20-minute boat ride between them. This combination offers a perfect mix of city sightseeing and traditional Dutch culture.
The tour starts from Damrak 26 in Amsterdam. You will travel by coach.
Leave the city of Amsterdam behind to explore the Dutch countryside. Your luxury coach will take you to the Zaanse Schans with its many unique windmills. After a stop for photos of the windmills, visit a clog-maker to discover how the traditional wooden shoes are made also known as Klompen.
You will then proceed to the small charming fishing villages of Marken and Volendam on the coast of the former Zuiderzee (now called IJselmeer). Decode the secret of making world famous Dutch cheese when you visit a traditional cheese farm.
You can visit the Fish Auction or The Volendam Museum, where the walls are ornate with intricate mosaics. A local artist has glued 11 million Cigarbands to big boards to create giant images of Dutch windmills to Statue of Liberty.
Travel by boat from Volendam to Marken for 20 minutes to see the characteristic wooden houses of Marken. You will be amazed by these quaint fishing villages which have preserved their traditional coastal landscape.
The tour ends at Damrak 26.
