Handpicked bus tour and attraction experiences, bundled together for a seamless city journey.
I organized a girls weekend away with 8 girls from the Gold Coast to Sydney for my Aunty's 60th. I pre-booked the tickets with the customer service person on the phone. Within seconds I had my booking confirmation of the tickets. Presented the booking voucher to the driver in exchange for 9 tickets and away we went. Easy no fuss. The tour was the best thing I had organized as the value was great for the excellent experience we had. We didn't get off at any stops as we where happy to do the round straight trip. The trip was very informative in things we hadn't had the chance to see before even though I have been to Sydney heaps of times. We all would thoroughly reccommend this is a tour you MUST DO when you are in Sydney. The ticket was made even better that it was valid for 24hours. The price for this tour is very reasonable considering the value you get out of it. This is a great tour for all ages. I want to personally thank ISANGO for giving us a wonderful experience. Sonya the girls from the GOLD COAST QLD
Very happy with the commentry and the sights we saw. Could not think of a better way to get around and see Sydney. Good value for money.
So easy, hop on and off bus is a great way to see the city. The drivers and staff happy to help with a smile. Good job guys:)
Hop on hop off Sydney bus routes, Red or City Tour Route and Blue or Bondi & Bays Route are designed to connect the city's most visited areas, from iconic harbor landmarks and historic districts to coastal suburbs and world-famous beaches.
The City Tour Route or Red Route is the main sightseeing circuit through central Sydney. It passes many of the attractions first-time visitors come to see, including areas around Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Hyde Park, and the Sydney Opera House precinct. A complete loop takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, making it a convenient way to get an overview of the city before deciding where to spend more time.
For visitors wanting to experience Sydney's coastal side, the Bondi & Bays Route or Blue Route travels beyond the city center towards the eastern suburbs. The route provides access to Bondi Beach and several scenic waterfront neighborhoods, combining beach culture, ocean views, and local dining spots. A full loop takes around 1 hour 30 minutes.
If you're planning a day trip beyond Sydney, there is another hop on hop off Sydney route, i.e., Blue Mountains Explorer Route. It offers a dedicated hop-on hop-off service through one of New South Wales' most famous natural regions. The route stops near popular lookouts, walking trails, waterfalls, and visitor attractions, allowing you to explore the area at your own pace without needing a car.
Several ticket options also include night tours in Sydney, Australia. Unlike regular hop-on hop-off services, this is a non-stop sightseeing experience that showcases Sydney after dark, through Purple route, departing at 6:00 PM and 06:30 PM. As the city lights reflect across the harbor and landmarks illuminate the skyline, visitors get a completely different perspective of Sydney's most recognisable sights. The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and operates seasonally throughout the year.
Sydney tourist buses run from around 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM, with service frequencies ranging anywhere between 25 and 45 minutes depending on the operator and day of the week.

Start with the city before heading to the beach: Sydney's landmarks are spread across very different areas. Avail Big Bus Sydney: Hop-On, Hop-Off Bus Tour Optional Harbor Hopper Cruise and begin with the City Tour Route to cover places around Circular Quay, The Rocks, and Darling Harbour, then switch to the Bondi & Bays Route later in the day. You'll spend less time traveling and more time sightseeing.
Don't treat Bondi as just a photo stop: A lot of travelers hop off, take a few pictures, and leave. Instead, allow extra time for Bondi Beach, the coastal atmosphere, cafés, and nearby walking paths. This part of sightseeing in Sydney feels very different from the city center and is worth slowing down for.
Consider a Blue Mountains day if you're staying longer: If you have more than two days in Sydney, use a dedicated Blue Mountains Explorer hop-on hop-off ticket to explore famous lookouts, bushwalking trails, and mountain towns. It adds a completely different side of Australia to your itinerary without needing to rent a car.
Save the night tour for your first evening: A night tour is a great introduction to Sydney. Seeing the harbor illuminated after sunset helps you understand the city's layout and often helps you decide which attractions you'd like to revisit during the day.
For many visitors, Sydney starts with a harbor view. Maybe it's the first glimpse of the Opera House from a ferry or the sight of the Harbour Bridge stretching across the water. Either way, the harbor is never far from the story.
But Sydney isn't a city that stays on a postcard for long. Walk around and you'll find surfers heading to Bondi Beach before work, locals catching ferries instead of trains, and people making the most of the sunshine whenever they can. That's part of the city's charm.
There's history here too. The Rocks, with its old sandstone buildings and narrow streets, offers a reminder of Sydney's early days. Yet what often surprises visitors most is how easy it is to escape into nature. Coastal walks, ocean views, and national parks sit just beyond the busy city streets, giving Sydney a feel that's hard to find elsewhere.
Yes, Sydney has its own sightseeing buses which are operated by leading companies like Big Bus Sydney. These open-top, double-decker buses offer two main routes—the City Tour and the Bondi & Bays Tour—each with regular departures and stops at all major landmarks. It’s an effortless and fun way to experience the city, perfect for visitors of every age.
Absolutely! The hop-on hop-off bus is ideal for maximizing your Sydney experience. You can cover all downtown sights, Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour, and more without worrying about parking, navigation, or changing trains. Unlimited rides, insightful audio commentary, and panoramic upper-deck views make it a smart, flexible, and cost-effective way to discover Sydney’s highlights on your schedule.
Tickets for Sydney’s tourist bus can be purchased online through websites like trusted travel portals, or third-party booking apps. You can also buy tickets at key stops like Circular Quay, Central Station, or directly from the driver. However, online booking is recommended for instant e-tickets, secure payment, and special combo deals or attraction bundles.
The routes cover the city’s top must-see sights such as Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, The Rocks, Bondi Beach, Hyde Park, St Mary’s Cathedral, Kings Cross, Woolloomooloo, Taronga Zoo, Paddington Markets, Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair, Chinatown, and more. Transfers between Red and Blue routes ensure easy access to both city icons and sunny beaches—hop on and off wherever inspiration strikes.
Sydney’s hop-on hop-off bus tours run year-round, but spring (September–November) offers the most comfortable weather for outdoor activities. However, you can expect crowds this time, as it’s the peak season. For lighter crowds, try to visit in autumn (March–May). For the best choice of seats and potential discounts on combos, book your tickets online a few days ahead. Weekdays are often less crowded than weekends, letting you make the most of every stop.
A full loop on the City Tour (Red Route) takes about one hour and 45 minutes if you stay onboard, while the Bondi & Bays Tour (Blue Route) is approximately one hour and 30 minutes as well. Many travelers extend their experience, hopping on and off over several hours or days—the 24- or 48-hour passes let you explore at your own relaxed pace.
