After being picked up from the hotel, your driver-guide will accompany you to the Royal Summer Palace - recognized as 'The Museum of Royal Gardens', one of the most special places in the city where you can while time away. Explore the former summer residence of several Imperial families, consisting of palaces, gardens and temples located at the foot of Kunming Lake. With an area of almost 300 hectares, this large complex is currently used as a recreation area by the people of Peking and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Next, head to Beijing Zoo, and discover over 15 exhibition halls home to elephants, gorillas, monkeys, tigers, giraffes among other interesting species. Come face to face with the lovable and biggest stars of the zoo is of course the giant panda.
Enjoy free time for lunch (not included) You may inform your guide to recommend some popular local restaurants for you. Afterwards, visit the Lama Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in the world. Finally, no tour would be complete without discovering the real culture of Beijing as you stroll through the Hutongs and Courtyards, which attract more tourists from home and abroad than the high-rise buildings and large mansions.
