Both Neuschwanstein and Linderhof are magnificent castles and were conscientiously built with maximum preservation of the surrounding environment. They both appear to be emerging from the surrounding forests and environment, as though they truly belong there. These two castles stand as monuments to one of Germany’s greatest kings; King Ludwig II who oversaw their construction.
The tour ends with a visit to the medieval town of Oberammergau – where every 10 years the world famous Passion Plays take place.
You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach at the front of the “Karstadt” department store, for this tour.
Start the day with a visit to Linderhof Castle; This brilliant palace was built in 1886 by King Ludwig II. It sits like a jewel amid thick coniferous forest and its interior will take your breath away.
Neuschwanstein, the inspiration for Disneys “Sleeping Beauty Castle” was the private refuge of King Ludwig II. Its presence immediately conjures images of fairy-tale fantasies.
Next on the agenda is a short visit to Oberammergau home of the world famous Passion Plays. You will have time at leisure for shopping and sightseeing.
The tour ends at the starting point.
