Also known as 'The Rock', the federal prison once established on Alcatraz Island is synonymous with notorious bank robbers and murderers like Al Capone, 'Machine Gun' Kelly, and the 'Birdman of Alcatraz', Robert Stroud. Now empty, and managed by the National Park Service, you can explore the infamous facility on a 45-minute audio tour "Doing Time: The Alcatraz Cellhouse Tour" featuring prisoners and correctional officers who used to live and work on Alcatraz.

Note: The specific departure time for your ferry ride to Alcatraz Island will be provided to you upon redeeming your voucher.

This voucher must be redeemed with Local Tour Operator, no later than 72 hours prior to departure by checking in online via: www.sightseeingworld.com/en/checkin

IMPORTANT: The departure time is allocated automatically and will be provided upon reconfirming the tour with the operator a few days prior to departure. The set time slot cannot be changed. We recommend keeping your day flexible until you receive your confirmed departure time.

Once you reach Alcatraz Island you can stay as long as you like; ferries return approx. every 30 minutes.

The date chosen upon booking will be the date for your Alcatraz tour; the Hop-On Hop-Off pass is flexible and you can start the bus tour at any time.

Hop-on, hop-off bus routes, and timings are subject to change. The updated map will be available on the bus.

San Francisco is a functioning city and weather, traffic, and events may occasionally cause disruption.

Please carry a valid photo ID with you.

No refunds will be given

for no-shows or missed ferry departures.

Wheelchairs can be collapsed down and stored on the bus but the buses are not equipped with ramps and therefore passengers would need to walk up 2 steps.
