This carefully crafted day trip from San Francisco allows visitors with limited time to take in some of Yosemite National Parks staggering beauty. The time in the park combines both a guided drive and time at leisure.  

What's the plan:

Cross the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge at sunrise and relax on the 3½-hour drive to Yosemite National Park. Get lost in the stirring vastness and desolation of the landscape, punctuated from time to time by a flock of wind turbines.

Arrive in Yosemite National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and truly one of the most wondrous places on earth. A knowledgeable guide will lead you on a guided tour drive through the most hallowed areas of Yosemite including a photo stop at one of Yosemite Valley's most famous viewpoints overlooking the entire Yosemite Valley, Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan, and Half Dome. As you travel down to the Yosemite Valley, get up close to El Capitan and Bridalveil falls.

Next, enjoy 3 hours of free time in the Yosemite Valley, where you can take in stellar views of North America's tallest waterfall, Yosemite Falls and hike to the base of the Lower Falls. The Yosemite Valley offers various lunch opportunities, hiking trails, bike rentals, museums, and a number of stops to take advantage of the free shuttle service which will give you access to other parts of the park.

Reflect on your day on the way back to your San Francisco hotel, as you follow the sun west to its final resting place for the evening.

      What an experience! It was fantastic. Good driver/commentator. My only negative comment would be that we needed more time at the Park....
