Tibidabo’s amusement park is the oldest in Spain, the second oldest in Europe and one of the first-ever parks to be built in the world. Since it opened in 1901, its rides and attractions have been constantly updating, while it’s amenities, including cafés, panoramic restaurants, play areas and lively entertainment areas have all been kept up to date.
If you do choose to continue to the top, both kids and adults will enjoy the charming theme park. The only surviving amusement park in Barcelona with over 100 years of history, has over 25 nerve-wracking and exciting rides that shows the city from unexplored and amazing sights. There are attractions for all ages: the Plane; the new roller coaster; the Plaça dels Somnis, or Plaza of Dreams; the gold mine; the Sky Walk; the Miramirall shall of mirrors; and, of course, the Giradabo, the large ferris wheel, its 20-metre diameter and 500m above the city makes it, which is already part of the new Barcelona skyline.
The park also offers a wide range of facilities for visitors including a selection of restaurants and picnic areas, many of which boast amazing views over the city spread out below. There are several accommodation options and hotels near the Tibidabo Mountain, in Barcelona’s less crowded region.
