5 Days York, the Dales, Lake District and Hadrian's Wall tour from Edinburgh

The tour starts from Edinburgh bus station as you board the comfortable and top-of-the-line Mercedes mini coach.

The day begins from the Scottish borders of Northumberland, travelling across the East Lothian coastline towards the town of Berwick Upon Tweed . Over the quick stopover, make sure to go around this walled city with beautiful beaches and riverside walks. 

After admiring the fortifications of Bamburgh Castle, travel further towards the City of York through the Great North Road , the famous route which was crossed by many Roman armies from the Roman Brittania to the remote Northern outposts. You’ll be arriving in York late in the afternoon and stopping over for two nights.

After a long day of travelling, enjoy Day 2 at your own leisure. Explore the medieval side of York, a city whose history is still afresh with the memories of the Romans, Vikings and the Normans.

Alternatively, follow up your explorations with an excursion to the North Sea coast of Yorkshire. The excursion begins in the late morning towards the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Grab some lunch in the famous town of Whitby, where author Bram Stoker became famous for his legendary gothic novel Dracula .

After strolling through Whitby, head towards the small fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay . Enjoy walking downhill and uphill to the old village centre, its ethereal beauty kept intact within the narrow alleys and winding lanes. Day 2 ends here with a journey back to York.

Get ready for an exciting day! You’ll be picked up from your accommodation and taken to the heart of Yorkshire Dales National Park in the west. With gorgeous sceneries and a wide range of wildlife habitats to chance upon, this cultural heritage is an amazing arena for outdoorsy excursions, relaxation and wildlife viewing.

Furthering into the west, you’ll be taken through the picturesque Northern Dales, the centre of the Dales cattle trade. Day 3 comes to an end after a journey high up into the remote hills of Yorkshire Dales. Unwind yourself and explore the charming town of Keswick as you come down from the hills into the lively market town.
