Overview
Admire the awesome majesty of the Bavarian Alps and rejuvenate in the scenic tranquility of the valleys and mountain passes en route to Berchtesgaden. This used to be Hitler's mountain retreat and is a place brimming with history.
Enjoy an educational adventure and see some breathtaking natural scenery as you explore the underground world of the salt mines. This is a private tour that allows plenty of interaction with your guide.
Drive past the hunting Castle Hellbrunn and cross the Austrian-Bavarian border. Drive along the Königseeache valley, through the Bavarian mountains, past the ruins of Obersalzberg - Hitler's former mountain retreat. Arrive at the 500-year-old salt mines in the Bavarian Alps.
Wearing traditional miners' clothing, enter the mines and hear riveting stories. Using the same slides, as hundreds of miners before you, go down a 100-foot-long slide into the grottos. Enjoy a raft ride on the salt lake and a miniature train ride and then proceed to Berchtesgaden.
See Hitler's Eagle's Nest, a mountaintop lodge built by the Nazis. Located at 6,148 feet on top of Mt Kehlstein, the lodge offers some of the most amazing views of the Alps.
