Inarguably the most majestic structure of the Roman Empire, the Colosseum (originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre) is inhabited by myriad tales of bravery, public life and royalty in ancient Rome. Despite the pillage of natural disasters, fires, pollution and wars, it is a living proof of the stunning architecture and strong masonry of ancient world, and has served as a model for stadiums around the world.
In the Colosseum, you can go up Michelangelo’s staircase to reach the Campidoglio – the beautiful piazza outside the Capitoline Museums. Michelangelo came up with the design for the piazza when Pope Paul III Farnese asked him to design a new square in honour of Emperor Charles V, who was visiting Rome in 1536. The curved surface of the piazza resembles the face of an egg. Or, you can visit the arena floor where you will be amazed to see the magnitude of the Flavian Amphitheatre.
Access to the Colosseum on the first Sunday of any month is not included in this package. If you intend to take only the hop-on, hop-off tour, we suggest you an alternative Click here for more details>>
You will be overwhelmed as you enter the Vatican Museum and visit the majestic Sistine Chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope. Every corner of the chapel is decorated; with mosaics on the floor and intricate frescoes on the wall painted by the early Renaissance artists. Feast your eyes by looking at the luminous paintings on the ceiling and behind the altar painted by Michelangelo, one of the greatest artists of all time. It is a moving experience to see the enormity of the Michelangelo's Creation frescoes on the barrel-vaulted ceiling with the figures exuding strength and elegance. Contrary to the optimism and elegance of the ceiling, Michelangelo’s Last Judgement, which he painted on the back wall a decade later, is darker and pessimistic.
You are free to take in the beauty of the chapel as well as the other artworks on your own.
Note: Your Vatican museum and Colosseum tickets can be used either on the date chosen at the time of booking or the following day. When you exchange your voucher please inform the guide/hostess what day you would like to visit the Colosseum and Vatican museum.

They advertise no lines and that is not an exaggeration. The hop off hop on bus was a good overview of Rome. We have done that in other cities, but I think I have heard better...Claudette Jaramillo, United States, 05/Jun/2018
