Overview

Calling all Harry Potter fans, there’s a tour waiting to transport you into the films, to see the locations. A day of magical adventure and fun awaits. Climb aboard the Hogwarts Express, really the Jacobite Steam Train, and take in the jaw-dropping scenes of Scotland as you explore this most stunning of regions. 

This tour will bring the imagery of JK Rowling’s most famous works to life. Are you ready for some wizarding action? Highlights on this tour include the journey by steam. You’ll board the Hogwarts Express, more commonly known as the Jacobite Steam train. Before that though be sure to take in the splendour of The Forth Bridge, the ancient capital of Scotland, Perth and the beauty of the landscape. Awe-inspiring comes to mind. 

Then it’s aboard the express as you journey on one of the world's great railways. You’ll cross the Glenfinnan Viaduct, and see the rugged backdrop of Glencoe and Rannoch Moor. Your imagination running wild as you absorb this magical region. Then it’s back to Edinburgh, your head full of the thoughts of a magical day.

This tour is for anyone with a love of nature, the power of steam and the joys of the magical world of Harry Potter. There is no better showcase.

Please reach meeting point 15 minutes prior to the departure time. The bus departure will not be delayed and no refund will be provided for any late arrivals/ those who missed the bus.

The minimum age for a Highland Explorer Tour passenger is 5 years old.

Those who are under 17 years pay the adult price, but need to be accompanied by someone aged 18 or over.

Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.

The summer and winter itineraries vary slightly.
