Share this unique experience with fans of the show Outlander from around the world! Bask in the gorgeous landscape of the highlands as you travel through time on this 4-day guided tour.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Meet your guide at Edinburgh bus station on St Andrew Square and depart from Edinburgh on a comfortable Mercedes mini coach to kickstart your tour!

As you head north, the first stop is the charming village of Culross. On the Outlander show, Culross posed as the fictional village of “Cranesmuir” where the town’s cobbled streets take you back in time. Keep your eyes peeled to find Claire’s herb garden behind the majestic and historic Culross Palace.
Head next to the town of Falkland and relive the opening scene of the show! Follow the trail of the best-known film locations featured on the show.Thereafter make a stop at the Newtonmore Highland Folk Museum, which houses replicas of 18th century turf-roofed Highland crofts which were used in the first episode of the show!
Continue onward and pass the beautiful hilly area of Aviemore, finally arriving at Inverness where you spend the night.

Day 2:
Venture next to Culloden and travel through time as you visit the Culloden Battlefield which plays an important role in Scottish history as well as the Outlander books. Take the time to explore the visitor centre and site, and pay tribute to those who lost their lives at the last battle fought on British soil.
Thereafter, enjoy a short drive to Clava Cairns and admire the ancient standing stones which may well be the inspiration for Craighna Dun. Return back to Inverness with time to explore the town and enjoy the city for another evening.
Day 3:

Start your day at the breathtaking Glen Affric, known for its lochs, mountains, and pine forests – a truly picturesque Scottish gem. Journey along Loch Ness to visit Urquhart Castle, perched on its shores for a thousand years. Explore this historic castle and keep an eye out for Nessie.

Continue through the Great Glen to Glenfinnan, where a monument marks Bonnie Prince Charlie's historic meeting. Framed by Loch Shiel and the iconic Jacobite Steam Train line from Harry Potter, it's a blend of history and beauty. Finally, reach your overnight stop in Fort William, nestled under Britain's tallest mountain, Ben Nevis.
Day 4:
Begin your day with a visit to the glorious Glencoe and cross the rugged Trossachs area to finally arrive at Doune Castle. The castle is an extensive ruin that represents Castle Leoch in the TV programme, home to ‘Colum MacKenzie and his clan’ in the 18th century episodes.
The final leg of the tour brings you to the “Blackness Castle” on the banks of Firth of Forth where you enjoy a photo stop. Thereafter, begin your journey back to Edinburgh where the tour comes to a close.
