A tryst with Harry Potter, an encounter with Roman and Neolithic histories and a whole lot of natural beauty, this tour of Bath, Avebury and Lacock Village in West England will transport you to a dreamy world of vintage charms.
Our first stop for the day is the is beautiful landscape of Avebury, best known for being the site of prehistoric stone circle that is way older than the majestic Stonehenge.
We will dive deeper into the Wiltshire countryside and head to the pretty Lacock Village whose rickety lanes have been used to shoot popular scenes from Harry Potter, Downton Abbey and BBC's 1995 production of Pride and Prejudice. The entire place looks like it has jumped right out of postcard of old English village, with rows of medieval cottages making for an remarkable sight. Lacock Abbey, especially, has become highly acclaimed ever since it has been used as our beloved Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but its fascinating heritage goes way beyond that and one often wonders how this marvellous parish church has managed to be a nunnery, a brewery, a bakery, as well as a home!
Our final haunt for the day is the stunning Roman Spa town of Bath - one of most iconic historic sites in the world. Explore the legendary Roman Baths, feast your eyes on incredible Georgian architecture seamlessly blending into Romanesque styles, visit the majestic Bath Abbey with its exquisite Perpendicular Gothic architecture - the city is a haven of soul-stirring experiences.
